Due to upgrading to faster and more reliable equipment, I found my old Ender 3 just collecting dust.
I’ve finally got around to doing what I’ve wanted to for a long time now and adapted the Ender 3 to convert plastic bottle waste into useable PET filament
Thanks to the Recreator3D project (link at the end), the machine lives on as an experimental tool.
During its first proper run in, I have achieved consistent 1.75mm pulls but I know I’m going to have to experiment with flow rates when I use it to actual print with.
I look forward to posting more about my findings whilst using this kit and improvements I’ve already developed.
I’ve build the MK5 kit, more info on the project can be found here: http://recreator3d.com/ Blog By : Karl Badkin • 3rd+ • 3rd+Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing Creative
